RegUtility 4 (2011) Editor Review
Introduction
RegUtility 4 (2011) is mistakenly advertising as “the safest and most trusted solution to clean, fix and optimize your PC...” - Do you believe them? I sure don’t, they never offered any proof of their claim. My review reveals RegUtility is far from the best, as you’ll soon discover.
Ease of Use

RegUtility has a typical user interface with a few big flaws, but overall is simple enough to use.
The white writing on blue/green menu backgrounds makes reading the navigation options difficult, and unpleasant. The red-font to display the Last Scan Report results is also an eyesore. Speaking of font – the majority is too small and will trouble vision impaired users.
I do like how each section provides written instruction, and detailed information. However, the scan report is a lying scoundrel as it says, “There are a lot of errors that would result in your computer system crash!” talk about deceptive: its guaranteeing that my PC will crash without its intervention – which is nonsense. Furthermore, the use of past tense “would” makes the sentence difficult to understand, I believe the writer meant to use the current/present tense version of “would” which is “will”.
The 1-Click Maintenance button of RegUtility combines performing a registry clean; junk clean, evidence clean, and optimization into a simple click – a useful feature.
Annoyingly the help button has been stupidly configured: clicking help launches the main website http://www.regutility.com/, whereas it should load http://www.regutility.com/support.php or some actual help documentation.
Overall, RegUtility only just gets a 3/5 ease of use rating, it was almost a two.

Performance
RegUtility is a hyper-sensitive registry cleaner because it found too many registry errors: How can it find 971 registry errors on a test machine that moments prior was formatted and had windows 7 installed, you’re kidding RegUtility – I’m thinking its exaggerating the results, I doubt Microsoft just happens to include 971 registry errors packed into Windows 7 from the start.
In addition to the first scan test, I inserted 180 real registry problems into the computer and it only found 114 – missing 66 (37%). In short, RegUtility is a weak performing registry cleaner that sometimes overstates the number of errors it finds.
Help & Support
You can use either http://www.regutility.com/support.php or This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it to contact RegUtility for support.
I tested the quality of email support on offer by faking an installation problem. The quality of email support is dismal, poor, inferior or whatever synonym you want to use for bad.
They responded within 24 hours after receiving my email, but their reply was unintelligent as it told me to try again, and “If you have any problem, let us know” – did you read my email? I had already told them I had a problem, and this statement just shows how much they don’t care. RegUtility troubleshooting strategy: ask the customer to try-again, and email-us back if that fails, in my opinion a fob-off (evasion) approach to help.
The email response I received:
hi,
Please download regutility 4.1 http://www.regutility.com/RegUtility_Setup.exe
If you have any problem, let us know.
FAQ
The FAQs located at http://www.regutility.com/faq.php are a poor use of computer-ink – there are only six Question & Answer snippets, with a primary-focus on a selling.
The six FAQs are:
- What is the registry?
- Why do I need to clean the registry?
- Why use RegUtility?
- How many Payment Methods for Purchasing?
- How much does RegUtility Cost?
- Is my Purchase Guaranteed by 60 Days Money-back?
Conclusion
RegUtility is another inferior registry cleaner: the email support is bad; it overstates errors found; missed 37% of registry errors in the benchmark test; exaggerates its standing in the registry community, and has some annoying ease of use problems, and its costly aswell – not a good resume.

RegUtility 4 (2011) User reviews
RegUtility 4 - Worst "Utility" We've Ever Tried!!
This is simply the worst piece of supposedly useful software we have ever downloaded and tried!! And we even paid to have it destroy our PC.
The one step automatic scan ran nicely then all hell broke out. Upon rebooting; no keyboard and no mouse. Upon recovering some degree of control we found we had no DVD drive, no capability to install or uninstall software, no access to Restore functionality, limited access to USB ports, etc., ad nauseam!!
Tried to contact company for support... NONE!
Tried to contact company for refund... NO RESPONSE!!
We ultimately rebuilt the PC from the latest backup.
Too bad we had to give it any stars to complete the review!!!
Stay away from this utility with a passion!!
